Paintings
I revel in painting en plein air, being on location with my paints and capturing the moments in time and my feelings about the landscape I am a part of. My plein air sketches are done in pencil, gouache (a versatile paint, similar to an opaque form of watercolour), oils, or acrylics. These studies often end up being finished paintings in their own right. They are invaluable sources of inspiration for larger studio pieces.

Ceramics
My ceramics practice runs parallel to my painting practice. The vessel becomes my canvas, and many of my plein air paintings become reinterpreted into ceramic vessels.
I enjoy using cobalt oxides, slips, and underglazes to decorate in a very painterly manner the thrown porcelain vases and bowls which have clean lines so as not to detract from the panoramic imagery.
